Eight Tech 1 and Tech 2 students from the WRVC Business program attended the Maine FBLA State Conference, where they had the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in a competitive, real-world setting. Students participated in rigorous exam-based events, including Personal Finance, Real Estate, and Accounting, demonstrating their knowledge of key business concepts and financial literacy.
In addition, five students competed in presentation-based events, including the Business Plan, Job Interview, and Public Speaking. These experiences required students to think critically, communicate professionally, and present their ideas with confidence. Overall, the conference provided valuable opportunities for skill development in leadership, teamwork, and career readiness while representing WRVC with professionalism and pride.
Zach Pham of South Portland High School earned 3rd place in the personal finance competition, and Tina Nguyen of Westbrook High School earned second place in the prestigious pubic speaking event. Tina, a senior, will attend Bentley College in the fall.
Congratulations to all of our amazing competitors. WRVC is so proud of you! We would also like to thank our FBLA advisor, Ms. Boody-Billings, who is also the Business teacher, for supporting and preparing the students for this opportunity.
