This year's Holiday Concert was just like previous concerts – it rocked! The Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and Chorus all demonstrated why WHS has such a phenomenal music program. The number of students who participate is huge compared to other schools, and the dedication of our staff and students is off the charts. Congratulations to our amazing teaching staff, Kyle Smith, Sue Proulx, and Joey Hendricks, on preparing and inspiring their students to give yet another fabulous performance. Every year they put on a show that is professional quality.
A special shoutout to Joey Hendricks, a.k.a. Santa the son, and our Drama Club Advisor Keith Anctil, a.k.a. Santa the barbarian. They battled each other in an intricately choreographed sword fight in sync with a song performed by the Concert Band. Ultimately Santa the son defeated the barbarian, and everyone lived happily ever after. That is, everyone except for the barbarian, who collapsed in a heap at center stage.
Congratulations to the students, many of whom learned and perfected several songs for the concert in record time, not even a month after the marching band season ended. Bravo!!!
