It's National PTO Appreciation Day, and I'm here to say that Saccarappa has THE best PTO, which we couldn't appreciate more. Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who make our PTO so impactful. From fundraisers to social events, our small but mighty parent group does it all. Thank you.

Thank you to Linda Bois, Guyla Woodbrey, and Hannah Moore for sharing about Saccarappa's Garden Club during the school board meeting last night. The Garden Club not only harvests a large amount of produce for the nutrition department but it positively impacts a significant number of students each year through hands-on gardening experiences. Proud to be a Shining Star!

Brea Lu Cafe is once again sponsoring the Brea Lu Betty Book Club!. Last year, they had over 200 bookmarks submitted, and they are willing to give out even more pancakes! This year, they are extending the program to all Westbrook elementary AND middle school students. All you have to do is read 5 books, have your teacher sign off, and submit the bookmark for a free pancake. Bookmarks can be found at the link below. Happy reading!

On Thursday, August 28th, kindergarten students will have the opportunity to ride the bus, meet their teachers, and visit the kindergarten classrooms. This can be in addition to or in place of the Back-to-School Open House. Buses will arrive at pick-up locations one hour after the typically scheduled time and bring incoming kindergarten students and a parent to Saccarappa from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Students who will not be riding the bus this year are still welcome to attend.

If you are an incoming kindergarten family and do not receive a letter, then your child's registration may not be complete. Please call Saccarappa's office after August 11th to finish the process.
